Learning How To Set Boundaries Can Reduce Stress

Learning How to Set Boundaries can Reduce Stress by Randi Bussin | Oct 6, 2009 | Other | zero comments Boundary Setting Helps Reduce Stress! In my teaching with purchasers, I notice that a lot of them are overwhelmed and overworked, particularly in this economy. In my very own work with Sharon Teitelbaum, I even have discovered that some of the highly effective issues time-starved, crazy-busy individuals can do for themselves is to strengthen their boundary-setting skills. It presents a giant bang for the buck, in my experience. Here are a number of of Sharon’s ideas for setting boundaries: Don’t be an Automatic Helper. § Before leaping in or committing to assist, ask yourself these questions: o Do I have the necessary sources obtainable (time, money, focus, attention) to help in this state of affairs? § What other commitments of mine will take a success (be postponed or taken off the listing totally) if I take on this new one? § What will I even have to say “no” to in ord er to say “yes” to helping out right here? § Based in your solutions to those questions, make a conscious decision. Practice saying this line out loud: “Let me take into consideration this and get back to you.” Feeling guilty doesn’t necessarily mean you’re doing something wrong. § Sometimes it means you’re doing something completely different and that feels uncomfortable. If you’d like to hear more concepts about how and when to set appropriate boundaries, think about attending Sharon’ teleconference on boundary setting on Thursday October twenty second at 1:00 pm Eastern.
